November, 2009 – Hilton Head, South Carolina
On November 5, 2009, partner Alan Van Praag will chair the meeting of the International Organizations and Conventions meeting of the Maritime Law Association meeting.
October, 2009 – Canada
In October 2009, partner Stephen Nagler chaired two panels at BioContact, the largest healthcare conference in Canada. The panels were under the heading International Finance. The first had four prominent venture capital funds. The second included four leading investment bankers. It is the fifth year that Stephen has chaired these panels at BioContact.
In October 2009, the International Litigation Committee of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association chaired by partner Ted Semaya launched a new project in coordination with the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County to assist the Court in preparing materials and procedures to host visits of the many foreign judicial and academic delegations that come to study the Court, particularly its Commercial Division, and to meet with the Justices of the Division. http://www.nysba.org/Content/NavigationMenu4/Committees/Committee_on_Interna.htm

February, 2009 - London Shipping Law Centre
In February, 2009, partner Alan Van Praag, sitting on an international panel, delivered a paper on Security and Enforcement of Maritime Agreements and a paper on Rule B at the London Shipping Law Centre in London, England. Lloyd’s Law List has commented extensively on the Rule B paper.
